The short film “Noi e Nina”, premiered on October 20, 2024, at Soho House Rome during the 19th Rome Film Festival, shone a spotlight on clown therapy: it gives voice to patients, former patients, and clown doctors, telling how “smile therapy” can ease emotional distress, reduce anxiety and suffering, and — in many cases — help decrease the use of painkillers and sedatives.
Written by Simona Sparaco and directed by Sacha Ippoliti and Evelina Manna, and produced by Moodyproduction, the short film received great acclaim from both audiences and critics for the delicacy of its storytelling and the strength of its message.
Building on the sensitivity and humanity conveyed by the short, Moodyproduction plans to expand the project: “Noi e Nina” will evolve into a TV series.
