Let’s Fall in Love, a commercial against homophobia.
Directed by Pappi Corsicato: “The idea was born from the desire to communicate to everyone — gay and not — that there is nothing wrong with living one’s emotions and feelings openly, with simplicity and naturalness. The wrong lies in prejudice, in the demonization of something that, after all, is only love — and for that reason, it can harm no one.
In our country, unfortunately, discrimination and prejudice are still widespread, and those who are more fragile and sensitive — like the protagonist of my commercial — often cannot bear such pressure, resorting to extreme acts, as we increasingly read in the newspapers. Therefore, the commercial aims to encourage everyone not to judge, not to discriminate, but to live and let live with serenity what should be everyone’s right: to love and to feel emotions. Love, in all its forms, is the foundation of every evolved and conscious society.”
“Not by chance, the song by Cole Porter that I chose as the soundtrack of the commercial is called *Let’s Fall in Love*, which means ‘let’s fall in love’, and its lightness and harmony, in my opinion, perfectly represent the joyfulness with which feelings should be experienced.”
